Supergel is considered one of the most widely used colour filters in the world. It consists of more than 75 colours and 15 diffusions, manufactured using Rosco’s exclusive body-coloured polycarbonate extrusion process to provide the longest possible life in hot theatrical and film/TV luminaires. This unique manufacturing process gives Supergel outstanding heat resistance, colour stability and flame retardance. Body-Colored Polycarbonate Technology Supergel uses Rosco’s signature extreme body-coloured extrusion process. Production starts by combining powdered resin and dyes to create a concentrated “pellet”. This colour concentrate and additional clear resin are then fed into an extruder, where they are mixed under intense pressure and heat. The mixture is extruded through a die that forms a 24" (60 cm) wide film. Maximum temperature before deformation (softening): 160 °C Maximum temperature before melting: 220 °C
